A dash of comedy, a dose of tragedy and a challengingly dark underpinning – all part of Mozart’s opera Don Giovanni. The roguish, womanizing Giovanni, the vengeful Donna Elvira and a whole cast of characters will be joined on stage by the Sacramento Philharmonic & Opera Musicians and Chorus as Giovanni’s antics dig him deeper and deeper into trouble. From its thrilling overture to its breathtaking final scene, and a focus on the music, singing, and storytelling, Don Giovanni explores issues of amorality, power, and justice that are just as relevant to today as to Mozart’s time.
