About:

Hailed as “one of the great and distinctive American pianists and conductors of our time,” pianist Awadagin Pratt performs Jessie Montgomery’s Rounds, a work inspired by poetry, life and connectedness. Sibelius’s Valse triste and Lento provide a haunting opening to the program that closes with Principal Conductor Ari Pelto leading the orchestra for Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 4, which the composer himself called his “best symphonic work ever.”

The Sacramento Philharmonic & Opera 2024-2025 Season and Principal Conductor and Artistic Advisor Ari Pelto, for the 2024-2025 season, are generously underwritten by the Nancy and Hank Fisher Family Fund.
